Stories from The Internet

We regularly scour the web for Sanrio News and sometimes that means personal stories or nostalgia. Today we found a good story about the history of “mascots” or “trinkets”.

The send story is a very interesting piece about the importance of kawaii after the war. Followed by a goodbye to one of the most iconic parts of “travel tourism the hello kitty train that would take passengers right to Puroland!

The cultural power of Kawaii

The Hello Kitty train has left the station for the last time

Trinkets are certainly using a resurgence. It’s unfortunate that Sanrio seems to have slowed down the practice recently, although it makes sense given the resellers who completely abused it. It’s okay, Sanrio doesn’t need to give us a prize to smile. We hope our friends at Sanrio know the pure joy they bring by just existing.

Who still has some of those cute small gifts?
