As of mid April we got the 1st peek at where voting is heading. THINGS ARE HEATING Sure thing! The 2026 Sanrio Character Ranking (the 41st annual fan vote for 90+ Sanrio characters) is live right now — daily voting until May 24, with final results dropping June 28.

Based on the just-released Initial Results (April 9–12 voting), history (Cinnamoroll’s multi-year dominance before Pompompurin stole the crown in 2025), Pompompurin’s big 30th anniversary boost, Kuromi’s international surge potential, and the long voting window still ahead, here’s how a Las Vegas-style sports book might post the odds to win the whole thing (final #1).

6	My Melody	+2200	Consistent top-6, but rarely cracks the podium anymore.
7	Ahiru no Pekkle	+3500	Surprise 7th in initial results — could be this year’s “who?” riser.
8	Bad Badtz-Maru	+5000	Edgy fan favorite who sometimes spikes late. Longshot special.
9+	Everyone else (Little Twin Stars, Hanamaruobake, etc.)	+8000 or longer	True longshots unless a massive viral moment hits.

How to read the odds (quick sports-book primer):

• Negative (-145) = favorite. Bet $145 to win $100 profit.
• Positive (+165) = underdog. Bet $100 to win $165 profit.

IMPORTANT WARNING These are hypothetical/fun odds — the poll is still wide open with over a month of daily votes left.

Last year’s contest saw Pompompurin crowned as the ultimate Sanrio fan favorite, with Cinnamoroll in second and Pochacco rounding out the top three. Pomponpurin's win came after Cinnamoroll won for five years in a row

 Fans can cast their votes every day online on the Character Ranking voting website or in-person at all Sanrio Stores and Cafes in North America, from April 8 through May 24. In-store voters will receive a free "I Voted" sticker, while supplies last. For the second year, fans can also vote in person at all Hot Topic stores nationwide, as well as purchase exclusive merchandise celebrating Character Ranking.
